So That  in Me  You May Have Peace

If we’re the least bit aware  of all the horrendous happenings  around this world,  we will know  that we are living  in a world  of many “tribulations”.     It might remind us  of what Jesus said  in John 16:33,

These things  I have spoken  to you,  so that  in Me  you may have peace.     In the world  you have tribulation,  but take courage;  I have overcome  the world.

Jesus has already “overcome  the world”  —  even though  it might not seem apparent  to us  —  or the rest  of this world.     Jesus’ suffering,  death,  and resurrection  won the whole victory  over sin,  death,  and the devil.     Yes,  we do have  to go through “tribulation”  until the final Judgment Day.     But,  we can actually  “take courage”  and  “have peace”  no matter what happens,  because  this is all  a part  of God’s plan  —  and He can be trusted  to care  for us  in every situation.     His promises  and love  are sure.

So,  in all this turmoil,  we can look  to our LORD,  and gladly say  with Psalm 66:1-2,

Shout  joyfully  to God,  all the earth;
Sing the glory  of His name;
Make His praise  glorious.

We don’t have  to pretend  to understand all  that is taking place  in this world  —  but we need  to understand  that God is God  —  He always has been God  and He always will be  the one-and-only God.     There simply is no other  —  and His word  has proven  His trustworthiness.

That is why we can  “have peace”  and  “shout joyfully  to God”  in every situation.

Having  “peace”  and  “joy”  in the LORD,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  it is so good  to know  that You will work  all things  for our good  in the end.”

Love,
Margaret
