Let Your Work Appear

Sometimes  a person  can get so busy  with their lives  that they can be  blind in one eye  —  and can’t see out the other.     In other words,  with all their busyness,  they don’t see any  of God’s miraculous works  around them.     They don’t realize the miracle  of a newborn baby crying  —  the sun  giving life  to the flowers  —  of the precise movements  of all the stars  and planets  accurately marking time  —  and billions  of other  similar events.

Constantly overlooking all these awesome things  develops ingratitude  within a person.     Instead of appreciating  all the works  of God around them,  they are grouchily  pushing their way through  the store aisles  —  aggressively zigzagging  through traffic  —  impatiently trying  to get around  an old person  —  and,  generally finding reasons  to always feel irritated.

Life is too short  to waste like that.     We need  to see what is good  and all the wondrous things  that God has set  all around us  —  to give us thousands  of reminders  of His glorious power  in all sorts  of places.     Instead of plowing through life  like a bull moose,  we do need  to look  at God’s many works  of love  that are there  to remind us  who God is  and who we are.

We can’t do any  of the works  of God.     Seeing  all the things  that God has done,  we should rest  in His wisdom,  salvation through faith  in Christ Jesus,  and power to create  and sustain  all things.

Knowing how we easily get distracted  from God’s testimonies  all around us,  Moses prayed  in Psalm 90:16,

Let Your work appear  to Your servants
And Your majesty  to their children.

Let us never forget  to thank God  for all the good He does  especially for us  day after day.     It’s proof  of His love  and care.     Resting  in His love,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  may we always sing  for joy  in You.”

Love,
Margaret
