In the Shelter  of the Most High

Many tend  to want  to be self-sufficient.     That can be very good  and has its right place  in life  when showing  that one is willing  to work  for a living  and not just lazily depend  on freebies.

But,  daily  and many will be the times  in our lives  wherein it is good  and right  to look  to the LORD God Almighty  for the help  and protection  we so sorely need  in this life.     Actually,  we need God  for our very breath  and protection  from every temptation  that accosts us  every day  of our lives.     That is why Psalm 91:1 tells us,

He  who dwells  in the shelter  of the Most High
Will abide  in the shadow  of the Almighty.

Because  of all the dangers  and temptations  in this world,  we truly need  to dwell  “in the shelter  of the Most High”.     If we think  we are strong enough  to leave  the LORD  and face all the world’s temptations  with our own strength,  we are fooling ourselves.     It is only God  who is able to guide us  through every temptation  and trial.     Only God  can guard us,  so that we don’t get injured  by the evils  in this world.

When we love  and respect  the LORD  in our living,  He will protect us  from every worldly harm  that would tear us away  from Him  and eternal salvation.     In staying close  to God  in faith,  hope,  and love,  we  “will abide  in the shadow  of the Almighty”.     Being  “in the shadow  of the Almighty”,  we are close  to Him and His protective love.     What a marvelously good place  to be.

At peace  in God’s protective love,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for always welcoming us  to dwell  in Your shelter.”

Love,
Margaret
