When  the Wicked  Sprouted Up  Like Grass

As one sees  wickedness  of every sort  growing by leaps  and bounds  all around  the world,  it seems overwhelming.     There is nothing  any person can do  to stop it all.     But,  there is something  God’s children  should always stay  aware of.     Psalm 92:5-9 clues  God’s children in.     It explains,

How great  are Your works,  O LORD!
Your thoughts  are very deep.

A senseless man  has no knowledge,
Nor does a stupid man  understand this:
That  when  the wicked  sprouted up  like grass
And all  who did iniquity  flourished,
It was only  that they  might be destroyed  forevermore.

But You,  O LORD,  are on high  forever.

For,  behold,  Your enemies,  O LORD,
For,  behold,  Your enemies  will perish;
All  who do iniquity  will be scattered.

In our helplessness,  we can get  so upset  and distressed.     The wickedness  in this world  is so  out of control.     The wickedness  is not just about terrorists.     It is also about  political corruptions;  sexual deviations of every sort;   abortions;  thievery;  lies  of every sort;  slander;  hatefulness;  mocking God with heathen practices,  cults,  and false teachings;  anarchy;  satanism  —  and on and on….

God shows us  that all these wicked people  are “senseless”  and “stupid”.     They imagine  they are in control  because their “iniquity”  has “flourished”.     They think  they are smart,  successful,  and powerful.     But,  It was only  that they might be destroyed  forevermore.

Their wickedness  will be hard  to endure,  but Jesus said  in Matthew 24:21-22,

There will be a great tribulation,  such as has not occurred  since the beginning  of the world  until now,  nor ever will.     Unless those days  had been cut short,  no life  would have been saved;  but  for the sake  of the elect  those days  will be  cut short.

Knowing God’s faithfulness,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for Your promise  of salvation.”

Love,
Margaret
