All Things Are Possible With God

All Things  Are Possible  With God

There has been a puzzling question challenging Christians  for thousands  of years.     What is that?     Total unbelievers ask Christians,  “If God is really almighty  and “all things are possible  with God”,  can the almighty God  create a rock  that not even He  can lift?”

Somehow,  we remember this question  being presented  over the years,  but cannot quite express  the answer  when on the spot.     C.S. Lewis gives us a reminder.     It would be good  to review it.     In essence,  Lewis finally pointed out,  “It is easier  to teach a fish  to swim  in outer space than  to convince  a room full  of ignorant fools  why it cannot be done”.

In other words,  Lewis  was also expressing, “Can God  create  a rock  so heavy  that even He  cannot lift it?”  is just as much nonsense  as asking, “Can God  draw  a square circle?”

There is no sense  in nonsense.     It’s simply foolishness.

So,  when Jesus preached  in Mark 10:25,

It is easier  for a camel  to go through  the eye  of a needle  than for a rich man  to enter  the kingdom  of God.

He was also teaching us  in Mark 10:27,

With people  it is impossible,  but not with God;  for all things are possible  with God.

And,  there is more than that.     In Luke 1:37,  when the angel announced  to Mary  that she would bear the Son  of God,  he said,

For nothing  will be impossible  with God.

That is a godly sensible statement  —  not the  contradicting nonsense  of opposites  and unbelief.     So,  we consider Revelation 21:8,

But  for the cowardly  and unbelieving  and abominable  and murders  and immoral persons  and sorcerers  and idolaters  and all liars,  their part  will be  in the lake  that burns  with fire and brimstone,  which  is the second death.

Knowing God’s almighty holiness,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord,  thank You  for the wonders  of Your  eternal word.”

A Christian devotional  to glorify  the LORD of lords  and GOD of gods.

Pray for our country.

He is a shield  to all  who take refuge  in Him.

Praise is becoming  to the upright.

Psalm 33:1

They are ever praising Thee.

Psalm 84:4

Just as a father  has compassion  on his children,

So the LORD  has compassion  on those who fear Him.

For His lovingkindness  is everlasting.

Psalm 107:1

Let the heart  of those who seek the LORD  be glad.

Psalm 105:3

Not that I have already obtained it,  or have already  become perfect,   but I press on  in order that  I may  lay hold  of that  for which also  I was laid hold of  by Christ Jesus.
