I Will Never Desert You

I Will Never  Desert You

No matter who we are,  we are totally helpless.     Without God’s daily care,  none of us  can even breathe,  let alone control a storm  or an earthquake  —  or prevent any sickness  from attacking us  and our family.     Although we must have food,  clothing,  and shelter,  it is not just  our hard work  that provides all that.     God’s blessings are given  to everyone  on earth,  to provide  these things.     We should not try  to take credit  for what God does  —  or doubt His love  as He gives  to each one  according to His wisdom.

No matter what  our situation  on earth,  we need  to remember  that everything depends  on God’s care.     Knowing that,  we need  to rightfully  thank God  for all His blessings.     Along this line,  Hebrews 13:5-6  tells us,

Make sure  that your character  is free  from the love  of money,  being content  with what you have;  for He Himself  has said,  “I will never desert you,  nor will I ever forsake you,”  so that we confidently say,

“The LORD  is my helper,  I will not be afraid.
What will man do  to me?”

An honestly thankful heart  is a heart  of faith  —  and that is  what our Lord wants  from us.     We can trust Him  in every situation  —  even when bad things happen.     God will carry us through  many experiences  in which we are to learn  and be strengthened  in faith,  hope,  and love.

May we always  confidently say  with King David  in Psalm 4:8,

In peace  I will both  lie down  and sleep,
For You alone,  O LORD,  make me  to dwell  in safety.

That’s putting our confidence where it belongs.

Glad  for God’s promised care,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for the blessedness  of Your constant nearness.”

Love,
Margaret
