God  Has Not  Allowed You  to Do So

God Almighty,  our Maker and Redeemer,  has a wisdom  so far above  anything we can imagine  that it should leave us  in total awe  and respect.     If we don’t acknowledge  God’s wisdom now,  we most certainly will  on Judgment Day.     In our lifetime,  we do  so many unwise things.     And sometimes,  we don’t even learn  from our experiences.

God’s word  —  the Bible  —  is where we need  to go  to learn wisdom,  learn what is right and wrong,  and receive the strength and knowledge  we need  to do what is good  in God’s sight.     When God taught Israel  how to live rightly  in the Promised Land,  He said  in Deuteronomy 18:9-14,

When you enter  the land  which the LORD  your God  gives you,  you shall not learn  to imitate  the detestable things  of those nations.     There shall not be found  among you  anyone who makes his son  or his daughter  pass through the fire,  one who uses divinationone who practices witchcraft,  or one who interprets omens,  or a sorcerer,  or one who casts a spell,  or a medium,  or a spiritist,  or one who calls up  the dead.     For whoever does these things  is detestable  to the LORD;  and because  of these detestable things  the LORD  your God  will drive them out  before you.

You shall be blameless  before the LORD  your God.     For those nations,  which you  shall dispossess,  listen to those who practice witchcraft  and to diviners,  but as for you,  the LORD  your God  has not allowed you  to do so.

That is plain  and to the point.     And,  it still holds true  for all  God’s children.     In spite  of this passage  and many similar Bible passages,  many Christians  defy God’s instruction  and partake in the heathen activities  of Halloween.

It is not wise  to defy God.     He is not only our Savior  —  but our Judge.     Do we love our Savior enough  to gladly obey Him  because of His loving wisdom?

So appreciative  of God’s teachings,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  You are holy  and merciful.     Lead us  in Your saving love.”

Love,
Margaret
