Remember His Wonders Which He Has Done

We all seem  to have a tendency  to be totally involved  in what is happening  in our present time.     It’s easy  to forget  about what has happened  in the past  —  especially when the present seems so overwhelming.     But we need  to remember  what God has done  in the past,  so that our faith  will be strong enough  to trust Him  with our futures  —  even in times  like these.

If we forget  what God has done  in the past,  we won’t know how  tothank Him  —  sing His praises  —  or speak  to others  of the glory  of His name.     Psalm 105  has a whole long list  of wonderful things  the LORD did  for the Israelites,  as He fulfilled  the promise  He had made  of rescuing them  from slavery  in Egypt  400 years beforehand.     Before listing God’s wonders,  Psalm 105:1-5  says,

Oh  give thanks  to the LORD,  call upon His name;
Make known  His deeds  among the peoples.
Sing  to Him,  sing praises  to Him;
Speak  of all His wonders.
Glory  in His holy name;
Let the heart  of those  who seek the LORD  be glad.
Seek the LORD  and His strength;
Seek His face  continually.
Remember  His wonders  which He has done,
His marvels  and the judgments uttered  by His mouth.

Because God always keeps His promises,  we need  to remember”  all that He has done in the past,  and how we ought  to be  as we wait  for God  to fulfill His promises  to us.     God is more than worthy  of our faith,  hope,  and love.

Remembering His “wonders”  in the past,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for Your everlasting love  and faithfulness.”

Love,
Margaret
