With Thanksgiving

In the U.S.A.,  the fourth Thursday  of every November  is set aside  as a day  of special  “thanksgiving”.      That’s good  and fitting,  as many celebrate  with feasting.     But,  many forget  —  or do not even consider  —  that the main point  is to be thanking God  for all His countless blessings.

God made all  of creation  for our benefit  —  He understands our needs  and heals the broken hearted  —-  He protects us from the wicked  —  He takes care of  and renews everything  in creation  —  He gives success  in our endeavors  —  He forgives  our sins.     Absolutely everything we have  is a gift  from God  —  even our every breath.

With so many blessings,  Psalm 147:7  tells us,

Sing unto  the LORD  with thanksgiving;
Sing praise  upon the harp  unto our God.

We will be glad  when we do  —  and God will be glad  right along  with us.

In the joy  of true  “thanksgiving”,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  it is only right  and good  that we always remember  where all our blessings come from.     Thank You  for opening our eyes  and ears,  hearts  and minds  to the truths  of Your faithful love  in Christ Jesus.”

Love,
Margaret
