Rejoice in All Your Undertakings

As we constantly face many  and varied  happenings  each day,  it’s easy  to forget  to thank God  for all His benefits  —  as something else soon catches  our attention.     That’s not a good thing.     Saying,  “Thank You”  to our LORD  is important  as it shows God  we are aware  of His constant workings  in our lives.

When Moses taught  the Israelites God’s word  as they traveled through the desert,  he warned them  to be very careful  to obey all  of God’s given word.     They were  to be sure  to utterly destroy  all the heathen idols,  altars,  and sacred pillars,  so they would not be tempted  to worship idols.     They were warned  to not act like heathens  towards the LORD.     Much rather,  they were instructed  on how to make proper sacrifices,  tithes,  offerings,  and contributions  to the LORD.

They were told  that when they reached  the Promised Land,  God  would show them  where they should go  to worship.     That place ended up being  in Jerusalem.     For that special place,  they were given special instructions.     Deuteronomy 12:7  instructs,

There also  you and your households  shall eat  before the LORD  your God,  and rejoice  in all your undertakings  in which the LORD  your God  has blessed you.

Now,  doesn’t that sound similar  to our Thanksgiving Day?     It’s a special day  set aside  to remember  all of God’s blessings  and  “rejoice  in all your undertakings  in which the LORD  your God  has blessed you.

This Thanksgiving,  let us remember  to “rejoice”  over all our blessings  from the LORD.

Glad  for every blessing  from God,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for everything  You bless us with  —  especially  the blessing  of forgiveness  through faith  in Christ Jesus,  our Savior.”

Love,
Margaret
