God Saw That It Was Good
God Saw That It Was Good
As God created all things in creation, at the end of each day,
God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:10
Then, at the end of six days of creating, Genesis 1:31 records,
God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good.
That’s something to remember. And then, we recall how Adam and Eve fell into sin ( Genesis 3 ). But, in God’s judgment He also promised a Savior from sin. That is love and mercy. And that is something to always remember.
For this reason — for God’s love and mercy that is often given in so many ways in our personal lives — King David sang in Psalm 34:1,
I will bless the LORD at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
God saved David in many dire situations — and David praised Him for that. But, first of all, David was thankful for God’s eternal salvation, that would come in our Savior, Christ Jesus. That is why he blessed “the LORD at all times” — just as we should.
God’s immediate plan of salvation for all mankind in the Garden of Eden “was very good” — just as all of creation was “very good”. His plan of salvation is perfect in every way. It couldn’t be better. It’s complete and free to all who trust in the eternal word of God. Realizing the goodness and truth of that, we should all say with David, “I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
As we remember the power of God’s creative love and mercy in sending the Christ child into our lives, let us always “bless the LORD at all times”.
In the awesome wonder of our Savior, we say, “Hallelujah! Lord Jesus, thank You for creating in us clean hearts and right spirits, to serve You with our whole lives.”
A Christian devotional to glorify the LORD of lords and GOD of gods.
Pray for our country.
The LORD made this day, let us rejoice and be glad in Him.
The word of the LORD is tried;
He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.
Sing for joy in the LORD, O you righteous ones;
Praise is becoming to the upright.
How blessed are those who dwell in Thy house!
They are ever praising Thee.
Just as a father has compassion on his children,
So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.
O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
Glory in His holy name;
Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad.
Not that I have already obtained it, or have already become perfect, but I press on in order that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.
