All Nations, All Peoples

All Nations,  All Peoples

The whole Bible repeatedly tells us  to rejoice  because the Savior  would be born  of Jewish descent  —  but be a Savior  for everyone  throughout the whole world  of those who believe  in Him.     One example is Psalm 117:1-2,

Praise the LORD,  all nations;
Laud Him,  all peoples!

For His lovingkindness  is great  toward us,
And the truth  of the LORD  is everlasting.
Praise the LORD!

Because Christ Jesus was born  for all of us,  the apostle Paul prayed  that Christians  would support one another  in the true faith,  to glorify God.     Paul wanted us  to be encouraged  in the Scriptures  by God’s promises  to all believers,  so he referred  to some Old Testament passages  in Romans 15:9-13,  saying,

…as it is written,
“THEREFORE  I WILL GIVE PRAISE  TO YOU  AMONG THE GENTILES,
AND I  WILL SING  TO YOUR NAME.”

Again  he says,
“REJOICE,  O GENTILES,  WITH HIS PEOPLE.”

And again,
“PRAISE THE LORD  ALL YOU GENTILES,
AND LET ALL THE PEOPLES PRAISE HIM.”

Again Isaiah says,
“THERE SHALL COME  THE ROOT  OF JESSE,
AND HE WHO ARISES  TO RULE  OVER THE GENTILES,
IN HIM SHALL THE GENTILES HOPE.”

Now may the God  of hope  fill you  with all joy  and peace  in believing,  so that you will abound  in hope  by the power  of the Holy Spirit.

May we know the peace  of God’s love  through faith  in Christ Jesus,  and say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for loving each  and every one of us  —  and for wanting us  to grow  in the true faith,  hope,  and love.     Continually  teach us  in Your word.”

Love,
Margaret
