No Man Can By Any Means
No Man Can By Any Means…….
There are some things that God puts in no uncertain terms. And, we have no right or reason to argue with God’s ways. We are the ones who are sinners and lack much understanding. Therefore, it is only wise to accept what God says and leave things in His hands.
One of the things some people want control over is the salvation of another person. But, the bottom line is that we have no control over anyone’s salvation. Their salvation is between God and them. Jesus often spoke of the necessity of believing in order to be saved unto eternal life. John 1:12 also tells us,
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.
No one can force another to believe. Only those who receive Jesus, i.e. believe in Him, can “become children of God” in heaven. We certainly can pray for those now living that they would come to a true faith — but, they have to allow the Holy Spirit to work in their lives to bring them to faith. And, most serious of all, no unbeliever can be saved after they have died on this earth. How do we know that? There are a number of helpful Bible references, and one is Psalm 49:7,
No man can by any means redeem his brother,
Or give to God a ransom for him —
For the redemption of his soul is costly,
And he should cease trying forever —
That he should live on eternally;
That he should not see the pit.
Nobody on earth has any power of any sort to redeem anyone else — living or dead. We are too sinful and unworthy to buy anyone’s salvation. If we want to claim that we’re worthy, we’re lying to ourselves and God. Some imagine they can appease God by various sorts of means, but Isaiah 26:14 bluntly says of unbelievers,
The dead will not live, the departed spirits will not rise;
Therefore Thou hast punished and destroyed them.
To emphasize our total unworthiness to save anyone else, God told Ezekiel that when He sends a plague of any sort and has any unbeliever die in that disaster…….
“… even though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in its midst, as I live,” declares the Lord GOD, “they could not deliver either their son or their daughter. They would deliver only themselves by their righteousness.” ( Ezekiel 14:20 )
God couldn’t be any more clear. Our goodness — our faith — cannot save anyone else — living or dead. In all our living here on earth, we must remember Hebrews 9:27,
It is appointed for men to die once, and after this comes judgment.
Everyone has only this life time to live in faith. There are no second chances. Seeing God’s love for us, we put our faith in His salvation through Christ Jesus, and say, “Hallelujah! Lord, thank You for guiding us in Your love and Your truth.”
A Christian devotional to glorify the LORD of lords and GOD of gods.
Pray for our country.
The LORD made this day, let us rejoice and be glad in Him.
The word of the LORD is tried;
He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.
Sing for joy in the LORD, O you righteous ones;
Praise is becoming to the upright.
How blessed are those who dwell in Thy house!
They are ever praising Thee.
Just as a father has compassion on his children,
So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.
O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
Glory in His holy name;
Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad.
Not that I have already obtained it, or have already become perfect, but I press on in order that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.
