My Lord and My God!

My Lord and My God!

All of God’s word  is our guide  through this life.     It is God’s  eternal testimony  to us  to point out  truth  and falsehood.     It is vital  to pay close attention  to everything God teaches us  in the Bible  because there are so many false teachings  floating around  in this world.     The apostle John warns us  in 1 John 4:1-3,

Beloved,  do not believe  every spirit,  but test the spirits  to see  whether they are from God,  because  many false prophets have gone out  into the world.     By this you know  the Spirit of God:   every spirit that confesses  that Jesus Christ  has come  in the flesh  is from God;   and every spirit  that does not confess Jesus  is not from God;   this is the spirit  of the antichrist,   of which you have heard  that it is coming,  and now it is already  in the world.

Churches that claim  that Jesus was  just a good teacher,  philosopher,  or miracle worker  need to be avoided.     Others never talk about  our sinful condition  —  but only  how much God loves us  and how to be successful in life.

All of God’s word emphasizes  that Jesus  is our Lord  and God  —  true man  and true God  —  whose sacrifice  on the cross has paid  for all our sins.     The apostle Thomas  fully realized that  when he first saw  our risen Savior’s wounds  and said  to Jesus  in John 20:28,

My Lord  and my God!

When Isaiah  describes our Savior coming  to deliver us  from our sins,  he said  in Isaiah 63:16,

You,  O LORD,  are our Father,
Our Redeemer  from of old  is Your name.

Jesus Himself said  in John 8:58,

Truly,  truly,  I say to you,  before Abraham was born,  I am.

Jesus is not “a god”,  as some claim.     He is the LORD God.     Revelation 17:14 points out that,

He is  Lord of lords  and King of kings,  and those who are  with Him  are the called  and chosen  and faithful.

So,  we joyfully say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord Jesus,  You are  our risen Lord  and Savior.”

A Christian devotional  to glorify  the LORD of lords  and GOD of gods.

Pray for our country.

He is a shield  to all  who take refuge  in Him.

They are ever praising Thee.

Psalm 84:4

Just as a father  has compassion  on his children,

So the LORD  has compassion  on those who fear Him.
