In Perfect Peace

In this world of turmoil  and problems  of every sort,  there are all sorts  of books,  blog sites,  etc.  promoting transcendental meditation  as a means  of quieting one’s mind  and attaining peace.     But,  an honest peace  and assurance  is not found in gurus  of any sort  or the meditation practices  of heathen religions.

The LORD God Almighty  is the only God  who has proven  His word  by fulfilling many prophecies  regarding  our Savior,  Christ Jesus.     Therefore,  it is good  to consider  Isaiah 26:3-4,

The steadfast  of mind  You will keep  in perfect peace,
Because  he trusts  in You.

Trust in the LORD  forever,
For in GOD  the LORD,  we have  an everlasting Rock.

God keeps our hearts  and minds  “in perfect peace”,  when we keep  our minds  and faith  in Him.     We simply study His word  to us  and practice  what God teaches us  about our Savior  and His gifts  of forgiveness  and eternal life.     We approach the LORD  in truth  and faith.     There is no need  for mantras  or rituals  of any sort

It’s as Jesus says  in John 4:24,

God is spirit,  and those who worship Him  must worship  in spirit  and truth.

In this world  of many religions,  we need to remember Bible verses like,

All the ways  of a man  are clean  in his own sight,

But the LORD  weighs the motives.       Proverbs 16:2

and

There is a way  which seems right  to a man,

But its end  is the way  of death.       Proverbs 16:25

The ways  of heathens  always lead  to “death”  because they simply  are not  of God’s eternal truth.     So,  in reverence,  we listen to  Acts 4:12,

And there is salvation  in no one else;  for there is no other name  under heaven  that has been given  among men  by which we must  be saved.

This is a great comfort.     There is only one LORD  and God  —  not many.     At peace  in that “perfect peace”,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for telling us  to ‘be still,  and know  that I am God’.     That truth  is forever.”

Love,
Margaret
