Love Will Grow Cold

Love Will Grow Cold

For ages  people have written songs  and stories  about their beloved  leaving them.     And others sympathize with them,  realizing their sadness  and hurt.     But,  not many think  or care  about God’s sadness  and hurt  over His people leaving Him.     In the greatest love ever,  Christ Jesus came  to suffer and die  to pay  for all our sins,  and grant us  the gifts  of forgiveness  and eternal life.

But all around us  we see people mocking and despising  God’s love  in Christ.     Many not only don’t love God  —  but they also have no love for others.     Instead,  they have hearts of hatred,  greed,  lust,  and violence  of all sorts.     Because of all their evil lack  of love,  they will be bringing  God’s judgment  on the whole world.

Over the last 2,000 years,  people have often imagined  that evil  was bad enough  in their day  to bring about God’s judgment day.     No one knows when it will come,  but we must keep our hearts  in God’s love.     When teaching  about the end days,  Matthew 24:4-14  says,

And Jesus answered  and said to them,  “See to it  that no one  misleads you.     For many will come  in My name,  saying,  ‘I am the Christ,’  and will  mislead many.     You will be hearing  of wars  and rumors  of wars.     See that you are not frightened,  for those things  must take place,  but that is not yet  the end.     For nation  will rise against nation,  and kingdom against kingdom,  and in various places  there will be famines  and earthquakes.     But all these things  are merely the beginning  of birth pangs.

Then  they will deliver you  to tribulation,  and will kill you,  and you will be hated  by all nations  because of My name.     At that time  many will fall away  and will betray one another  and hate one another.     Many false prophets  will arise  and will mislead many.     Because lawlessness is increased,  most people’s love  will grow cold.     But  the one who endures  to the end,  he will be saved.     This gospel  of the kingdom  shall be preached  in the whole world  as a testimony  to all the nations,  and then  the end  will come.

We need  to keep on  remembering this,  and God’s love  for us,  and say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for promising  to always  be with us.”

Love,
Margaret
