Who Is the Liar?

Who Is the Liar?

There are some  notable church bodies  that boldly claim  they are  the only true church  from the beginning of Christianity.     But,  their claims have many problems  —  one being  that their church  has been splintered  into many other churches  —  just like every other denomination.     Besides that,  many of their doctrines  are not biblical  —  but man made.

The bottom line is  that Jesus did not come  to set up a visible church,  packed with all true believers.     But,  Jesus did come  to save  every single sinner,  who believes  in Him.     Jesus suffered  and died  on the cross  to pay  for the sins  of all  who trust  in Him alone  for their eternal salvation.     This  body  of believers  does not necessarily belong  to one particular church.     Rather,  they are the ones  that the LORD God Almighty sees  as those  who honestly believe  Jesus’ sacrifice  has paid  for all their sins.

How do we know that?     Many Bible verses point  to this fact.     One is John 17:3,

This is eternal life,  that they may know You,  the only true God,  and Jesus Christ  whom You have sent.

To “know”  Christ  is  to believe  that He is  who He said  He is.     Another hint is Ephesians 4:5,  saying there is…….

…one Lord,  one faith,  one baptism…

All God’s true children  believe this  because God’s word  repeatedly declares it.     Those who trust Jesus  are forewarned  in 1 John 2:22,

Who  is  the liar  but the one  who denies  that Jesus  is the Christ?     This is the antichrist,  the one who denies  the Father  and the Son.

As the whole Bible points out,  “the Christ” is the LORD,  the Messiah,  who forgives all the sins  of every sinner,  who trusts  in Him.     So,  God’s children  find joy  in Mark 16:16,

The one who believes  and is baptized  will be saved,  but the one who does not believe  will be condemned.

Trusting God’s word  in the Bible,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for redeeming us  through Christ Jesus.”

Love,
Margaret
