He Who Began a Good Work in You

Most people work hard  to achieve  certain goals  in their life,  be it a higher education  —  an accomplishment  in sports  —  a business achievement,  or whatever.     And,  when their goal is achieved,  they like to get credit  for it.     It feels good  to be congratulated  for “their” achievement.

But,  there can be a problem with that.     How so?     The achiever  can so easily feel  that he is better  than others.     It is easy  to become proud  and imagine  that his every success  is due  to “his” being better  than others.     The truth  of the matter is  that God  is the provider  of our every talent,  circumstance,  and success.

This truth  is most important  in the truth  about our faith  and the promise  of heaven.

Some Christians  have a feeling  of pride  in what they see  as their faith.     They feel better than others,  imagining their faith is better.     And,  then again,  there are Christians,  who are fearful  of not having  enough faith.     They feel unworthy  of God’s love.     All Christians need  to always realize  they are all  under God’s care.     Philippians 1:6  promises,

He who began  a good work  in you  will perfect it  until the day  of Christ Jesus.

This is good news.     God Almighty  is carrying us  through this life.     It’s God working “in”  us  that will enable  each of us  to reach our heavenly home.     Not one of us  is any better  than others.     God “began  a good work  in you”  and better yet,  God  will perfect it  until the day  of Christ Jesus”.

We just follow  our Savior  with faith,  hope,  and love  —  humbly allowing Him  to work  in our hearts  the truths  of His salvation.

Trusting God’s love,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for faithfully leading us  to our heavenly home.”

Love,
Margaret
