You Are More Valuable

Down through the ages,  the followers  of the LORD  have been despised  and mocked  —  often to the point  where they are fearful  of losing their lives  —  and many have  lost their life  because of their faith.     Yet sometimes,  it is the case  that God’s children are fearful  even when  they don’t need to be.     They might be fearful  of admitting their faith  or fearful  of sharing their faith  when there is nothing  to be afraid of.

God wants us  to know  that we are always  in His care  —  so Romans 14:8  says,

For if we live,  we live  for the Lord,  or if we die,  we die  for the Lord;  therefore  whether we live  or die,  we are the Lord’s.

And Jesus said  in Matthew 28:30-31,

But the very hairs  of your head  are all numbered.     So do not fear;  you are more valuable  than many sparrows.

We celebrate the resurrection  of our Savior,  Christ Jesus,  just as  Jesus’ first followers did.     Nevertheless,  the New Testament records times  when they were afraid  and stayed behind locked doors  for fear  of the Jews.     At other times  they had the courage  to speak up  about the truths  of God  and salvation  through faith  in Christ Jesus alone.     They even became strong  in their faith  during harsh trials  and tribulations,  because they realized  how dearly God loved them.

We,  too,  need  to realize  that we are  more valuable  than many sparrows”.     We will die  when God wants us home  with Him.     And,  that is good.

It doesn’t matter  what other people  say  or think  —  what God thinks  is what matters.     We don’t push  our faith  on those  who don’t want  to listen  —  but,  neither do we remain quiet  when someone wants  to learn  about our Savior.

Speaking up  when someone wants  to listen,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  You shared Your words  of salvation  with us  —  help us  to share  with others.     Thank You  for considering us all  valuable.”

Love,
Margaret
