The Heart of Those Who Seek the LORD

The Heart of Those Who Seek the LORD

Honest praise  is so pleasing  to the LORD.     So,  Psalm 33:1  starts out by saying,

Sing for joy  in the LORD,  O you righteous ones;
Praise is becoming  to the upright.

A sincere heart  that acknowledges God  for all  that He is  is simply joyful  in the knowledge  of God’s love  for all  of us.     King David’s heart  was sincerely joyful  when he was able  to bring the ark  of God  to the tent  they had pitched  for it.     In wanting to give God  a right praise,  David appointed Asaph  and some Levites  to sing  and play all sorts of musical instruments  as a way  of always thanking God.

They sang  in 1 Chronicles 16:8-12,

Oh give thanks  to the LORD,  call upon His name;
Make known His deeds  among the peoples.

Sing to Him,  sing praises  to Him;
Speak  of all His wonders.

Glory  in His holy name;
Let the heart of those  who seek the LORD  be glad.

Seek the LORD  and His strength;
Seek His face  continually.

Remember His wonderful deeds  which He has done,
His marvels  and the judgments  from His mouth.

Having a thankful heart  that gladly sings  to the LORD  is what  we all need  —  simply because  God is awesome beyond description.     For whatever reason  we are seeking  the LORD,  we need  to  “be glad”  because He is our Creator Redeemer,  who has proven His love  for us  in Christ Jesus.

We can “sing to Him”  as we see His awesome creation  —  as we read His word  and remember all  that He has done  —  as we look to Him  for help  in our trials  and tribulations  —  and as we need guidance  in life’s challenges.     Every moment  is a good time  to  “remember” God’s wonders.

Remembering God’s holy love  for us,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for Your faithful love.”

Love,
Margaret
