By What You Have Done

It doesn’t matter what time  of the year it is.     We can look around us  at the wonders  of creation.     We see the stars,  sun,  moon,  trees,  grasses,  flowers,  trees,  animals,  and human life  of all kinds.     They are all wondrously made.     Each has a purpose.     Each depends  on its surroundings  to grow  and fulfill its purpose.

All of creation  was made by God  to be a blessing  in some way  or another.     Trees and plants create oxygen  for us to breathe.     Many trees,  plants  and animals provide food  for us  —  others provide clothing,  shelter,  and warmth.     The bottom line is that  we have so much  to be thankful for.     We need  to sing  with Psalm 92:1-4,

It is good  to give thanks  to the LORD
And to sing praises  to Your name,  O Most High
To declare Your lovingkindness  in the morning
And Your faithfulness  by night,
With the ten-stringed lute  and with the harp,
With resounding music  upon the lyre.

For You,  O LORD, have made me glad  by what You have done,
I will sing for joy  at the works  of Your hands.

It is God alone  who has blessed us  with all these good things.     He alone  is the ultimate source  of all blessings.

Thankful  for God’s almighty power,  love,  and unfathomable intelligence  and foresight  in all of creation,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  You have done all things well.     Let us see this  and honor You rightly  with good hearts.”

Love,
Margaret
