The Word Which I Have Spoken
Most everybody has something to say — and it may or may not be of value. Some stoutly speak words of deception — some speak without any actual knowledge — and others proclaim known truths. We need to listen carefully and be able to figure out what the truth is.
All of Jesus’ words have been proven true as they are the fulfillment of many Old Testament prophecies. As true as all of Jesus’ words are, there are many false preachers, who put a bit of a twist on it, so that their false words mislead people into wrong beliefs that might steal us away from a saving faith.
That is why it is of the utmost importance for all of us to study God’s word in the Bible. When we come to the realization that Jesus’ sacrificial suffering, death, and resurrection really do forgive us of absolutely all of our sins, we are cleansed of all our sins through faith in Jesus. Faith in Jesus makes us righteous in God’s eyes and welcomed in heaven.
That is why Jesus said in John 15:3,
You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
Jesus taught the truths of God. Believing those truths makes us “clean” and righteous. If we don’t believe all that Jesus taught, our unbelief leaves us unclean in God’s eyes. Why? Because unbelief is the same as calling God Almighty a liar. Why should anyone be calling God a liar when He has fulfilled so many prophesies in Christ Jesus?
At the same time, those who believe in Jesus’ authority to forgive, will be persecuted for their true faith. There are many Bible verses that speak of God’s faithful being persecuted for their faith. 2 Timothy 3:12 is one such verse,
Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
But, knowing God’s power is victorious over all, we say, “Hallelujah! LORD, thank You for Your truths.”
Love,
Margaret
