All Who Are Bowed Down

All Who Are Bowed Down
We have seen it time and again. Someone does something to hurt another, and then flippantly says, “Sorry!” It’s obvious that they are not sorry for hurting another.
That’s bad enough — but many treat God Almighty in the same way. Just because they have heard that the LORD is a very forgiving God, they imagine they can flip a quick, “Sorry, LORD!” to take care of everything they are not sorry for. That is disrespectful of God’s grace.
Because people often tend to be that way, King David wrote in Psalm 145:14,
The LORD sustains all who fall
And raises up all who are bowed down.
Here we need to note that those who are not humbly sorry for their wrong doing, are not “raised up” or “sustained” in their lives. In other words, they are not forgiven and given the relief of God’s grace. It is only “all who are bowed down”, who are relieved and forgiven for their sins. They just honestly feel sorry that they did wrong.
God gladly forgives “all” who honestly want to live according to God’s truths, in faith, hope, and love. David praised God for His gracious understanding and willingness to forgive.
We need to do the same as we strive to live in a way that is decent, right, and loving.
Sustained by our Savior’s love, we say, “Hallelujah! LORD, thank You for tending to our deepest needs.”
Love,
Margaret
