His Way Is Blameless

April 14, 2018

His Way Is Blameless

Psalm 18:30

As for God,  His way  is blameless;
The word  of the LORD  is tried;
He is a shield  to all  who take refuge  in Him.

Throughout time people  in this world  tend to blame God  for their troubles.     If a tornado passes by,  they claim God is not loving  or that He is not real.     If they are not getting rich fast enough,  they say  that God’s word  is not true  and that He does not care  for them “as He promised”.

But,  the truth is  that “His way is blameless” .     God is perfect and holy  in everything He does.     Even in our trials,  God is near  and cares for us.     His wisdom always knows  what is best  for us  —  even when it is a heartache  that will lead us  to know God  ever more closely.

King David had more troubles  than most of us.     When David wrote this psalm,  it was Saul,  who was trying to kill him.    Later,  even his own son Absalom tried  to kill him.     Think of the agony  in David’s heart  at these times.     In all this,  David sang, “As for God,  His way is blameless.”     Can we sing that  in our troubles?     We should,  because we’re talking  about the same God.

David knew God was caring for him  in the midst  of all these troubles.     His troubles made him cry out  in deep agony  to the Lord  for help  —-  and David knew God would help  because, “The word of the LORD  is tried;  He is a shield  to all who take refuge  in Him.”

As we read God’s word,  we see the lives  of many people,  who were in great distress  over what was happening  to them.     In every instance  “The word  of the LORD  is tried.”     Each time,  God’s child was saved  in God’s way  and God’s time  as they put their trust  in the LORD,  and showed that trust  by their actions.     By faith,  these people trusted  in God’s love and care.     Each time they saw  that God does keep His promises.     Most all the time,  it is not  in the manner we imagined,  but it is what is best for us  in the end.

It is for that reason  that David then sang,  “He is a shield  to all  who take refuge  in Him.”     Everybody wants a shield of protection.     The LORD is a shield  to all those  who take refuge  in Him.     God honors our trust  and faith.     Whatever answer He gives  to our prayers  is the answer  that will be the very best  in the end.     That is what we need  to realize.     God’s wisdom  is so far above ours.     He sees all things  and knows all things.     His love has been proven  to us  in Jesus Christ  and through what He has shown us  in His word.

We can trust  and have faith  because God has proven  that He is the Almighty LORD  who cares  for each and every one of us.     As we read God’s word,  see how blameless God is  in every situation  because His love  for us  is pure and holy  —  and His power is able  to work all things  for our good  in the end.

As we rejoice  in our God and Shield,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord,  thank You  for Your word.     Keep on showing us  how Your love is true and faithful  in every situation.     We can trust You  to make all things work  for our good  in the end.”
