Since You Were Born

May 27, 2018

Since You Were Born

If we’re honest with ourselves,  we will admit  that we sin every day  of our lives.     We might wonder  if God loves us anymore,  as He sees all  of our failings.    We can’t change our past  and we don’t have a clue  how we’ll fair  in the future  with all our trials and tribulations.     God knows our struggle  and tells us  in Isaiah 46:3-4,

I’ve carried you  since you were born
and lifted up  from the womb.
Even when you’re old,  I’ll be the same,
and when you’re gray,  I’ll still carry you.
I made you  and will continue  to bear you.
I will carry you  and save you.

God has carried the load  of our sins  from the day  we were first born.     Every day of our lives  the Lord carries our load  of sin.     And He will continue  to carry our sins  when we are old and gray.     As the Lord points out,  He made us.     God promises  to continue carrying us,  even in our sins — and He will save us.

God’s faithful love towards us  is nothing short  of awesome.     It is in total tenderness  that He daily carries us  in our sinful condition.     So great is His desire  to lead us  through this world  to eternal salvation.     He wants us  to learn to trust Him  with all our needs  and daily live close  to Him  in obedience  by studying His word  to us.     As we think over all  of our life  and all that God does for us  from day to day,  to keep us close to Him,  we will be able to say  with the psalmist  in Psalm 71:17-20,

O God,  Thou hast taught me  from my youth;
And I still  declare  Thy wondrous deeds.
And even when  I am old and gray,  O God,  do not forsake me,
Until I declare Thy strength  to this generation,
Thy power  to all who are  to come.
For Thy righteousness,  O God,  reaches  to the heavens,
Thou who hast done great things;
O God,  who is like Thee?
Thou,  who hast shown me  many troubles  and distresses,
Wilt revive me again,
And wilt bring me up again  from the depths  of the earth.

It is God’s faithfulness  that carries us  through all our trials  and tribulations.     With everything we face  in this world, God is strengthening our faith  and guiding us  in learning the beauty  of all His truths.     No matter what we have  to face in our lives,  we can let God teach us His ways  and lead us  to a trusting obedience,  faith,  hope,  and love.

We won’t be perfect  in this world,  but when we let God teach us  His ways,  we can be sure  that He will strengthen us  in all our “many troubles  and distresses”.     No one can help us  the way God can.     With God carrying us,  we can have His peace  that passes all understanding  and His light,  that helps us  to walk  in His righteousness.

Thinking of how God pursues us  in this life,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     My Lord,  Your faithfulness  and salvation  are awesome.     You do great things for me  beyond my wildest imagination.     Thank You  for caring for me  in all my troubles.”
