I Will Give Thanks to You
There are days when nothing seems to go right. One problem piles on top of another and another and another. Instead of tearing hairs, we need to remember who God is and sing along with David in Psalm 108:1-6,
My heart is steadfast, O God;
I will sing, I will sing praises, even with my soul.Awake, harp and lyre;
I will awaken the dawn!I will give thanks to You, O LORD, among the peoples,
And I will sing praises to You among the nations.For Your lovingkindness is great above the heavens,
And Your truth reaches to the skies.Be exalted, O God, above the heavens,
And Your glory above all the earth.That Your beloved may be delivered,
Save with Your right hand, and answer me!
King David had many adversaries and was always in need of the LORD’s help. In the midst of his demanding, desperate needs, David steadfastly looked to the Lord for help. David sang praises to the LORD when he needed help. Hint, hint.
We, too, need to always sing the praises of the LORD God Almighty when we need help. After all, He is our heavenly Father and He loves us ever so dearly. When we sing God’s praises along with David, we will also sing the last verse of Psalm 108 with him,
Through God we shall do valiantly;
And it is He who will tread down our adversaries.
Trusting in the Lord and singing His praises, we say, “Hallelujah! Lord, we will give thanks and praise to You because Your lovingkindness and patience towards us is so great. Thank You for giving us the truths of Your eternal word that we might know some of the greatness of Your love.”
Love,
Margaret
