Forget None of His Benefits
Every day we have benefits that we take for granted or feel we deserve. We don’t even think of thanking God for them because we feel we have “earned” them. But, with those feelings, we should consider that if God did not give us the needed health and talents to earn the things we desire, we would not have those things.
And, there are some things absolutely no amount of money could ever buy. So, ultimately all thanks really does always and forever belong to the LORD.
Everyone needs to sing with David in Psalm 103:1-5,
Bless the LORD, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;
Who pardons all your iniquities;
Who heals all your diseases;
Who redeems your life from the pit;
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
Here David lists the important blessings we can receive only from the LORD. These are the necessities that money can’t buy. There is no way we can earn any of these blessings. And yet, these are an absolute necessity for eternal life.
Have we blessed the LORD for each one of these today?
With humble and thankful hearts we say, “Hallelujah! Lord, You are so loving, kind, and faithful in providing everything we really need for eternal life. Your name is blessed forever.”
Love,
Margaret
