Who Is the One Who Condemns?

Who Is the One Who Condemns?

Probably everyone  has felt the stinging condemnation  of another person.     Sometimes the accuser is right — to a point.     Sadly,  there are many times  the accuser is totally wrong  and making accusations  in an effort  to hide their own sins  and feelings  of guilt.     Whatever the circumstances,  we are all sinners — in need  of God’s grace  and forgiveness.

When we believe  in Jesus Christ as our Savior  from sin,  it simply does not matter  what others say  and think.     As we look to Jesus  for all our needs  and strive to live  in His word,  our past  does not matter.     Paul makes that clear  in Romans 8:33-34,

Who will bring a charge  against God’s elect?     God is the one  who justifies;  who is the one who condemns?     Christ Jesus is He  who died,  yes,  rather  who was raised,  who is at the right hand  of God,  who also intercedes  for us.

Jesus Christ is  God our Savior.     God is the one  who has full authority  to justify us  and forgive all our sins.     No mere mortal  can change  what God does  for us  in Jesus Christ.     The power of God Almighty  in Jesus  is proven through prophecy.     The fact  that Jesus would take away  all our sins  is prophesied  in Isaiah 53:5,

But He was pierced through  for our transgressions,
He was crushed  for our iniquities;
The chastening  for our well-being fell  upon Him,
And by His scourging  we are healed.

The accuser  cannot trump that  eternal word  of God.     Anyone who tries  to deny God’s power  to forgive all those  who put their faith  in Jesus Christ  becomes an anti-Christ.     They condemn themselves  by denying this truth  of God.     When they have  to face the LORD  on Judgment Day,  they will stand accused.

So,  let all those  who look to Jesus rest  in His promises  of forgiveness  and eternal life.     We are free  from our past sins.     Don’t carry the load  of sin  any longer.     1 Peter 5:7  directs us,

…casting all your anxiety  upon Him,  because  He cares  for you.

We give all our burdens  to Jesus,  simply because  He wants us to.     He cares so much  for us  that He willingly suffered  and died,  that we might have life.     We are free  in Christ.     Now,  we live as free men  and say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord, thank You for taking the burden  of all my sins.     Only You  have the almighty ability  to wash away  all our sins.     Blessed be Your love.”

Love,
Margaret
