Teach Me to Do Thy Will
Psalm 143:10
Teach me to do Thy will,
For Thou art my God;
Let Thy good Spirit lead me on level ground.
We all need God to teach us His will. If we don’t allow God to teach us His ways, all of our naturally worldly ways will lead us to eternal destruction. Even if we believe in doing all sorts of good works and generously giving all our money to the poor, we will not be saved.
Doing God’s will is living in the true faith, hope, and love. If we choose to live in our own self-righteousness, we are treading on very shaky ground. Our good works will not save us because we are depending on our own self — making ourselves into a mini-god of sorts.
If we choose to live by any of the various worldly philosophies or religions in this world, we are denying the LORD God. That, too, is traveling on rough ground that will not lead us to eternal life.
The only safe way to travel through this world is to have God teach us His ways. Then we will be on solid, level ground — the only good place to be. God teaches us through His word — the Bible. That is what we need to study and take to heart in faith.
Content in the fellowship of our Creator and Redeemer, we say, “Hallelujah! LORD, You made all things and sustain all things. You know for sure what is good and right for us. Let us have the common sense to learn from You, for all true knowledge and wisdom are from You.”
Love,
Margaret
