He Will Not Shout or Cry Out

He Will Not Shout or Cry Out

The Old Testament,  and especially the book of Isaiah,  gives us many prophecies and descriptions of our Redeemer, Christ Jesus.     Just one bit of description is given  in Isaiah 42:2,  where it says,

He will not shout  or cry out,
or raise his voice in the streets.

This is worth thinking about.     Today,  we are in the “streets”  where ever we might live.     Time and place make no difference.     If we care  to take a moment,  we should realize  that our Savior does “not shout  or cry out”  in our lives as He daily most clearly reminds us  of His eternal love  for all of us.     Think of how very many people totally ignore God’s still, small voice all around us, as He is witnessing to His eternal love and care.     God is so awesome and yet, so humble in His ways.

Jesus does not even  “raise His voice  in the streets”  to get our attention.     Instead,  we can see Him  in all sorts of things around us  that definitely witness  to His almighty,  eternal power.     We could start  with the sky  and even all that is  in outer space.     Jesus is the Creator  of it all  as Hebrews 1:2-3 says,

… through whom He made the universe.     The Son is the radiance  of God’s glory  and the exact representation  of His being,  sustaining all things  by His powerful word.

So,  for every little thing there is  in creation,  Jesus is its Creator.     Jesus sustains us  from day to day,  just as He sustains all things  throughout creation.

Did you hear a sound?     Was there a voice loudly demanding  that we listen  to all that God has done?     It was not audible.     But yet,  the awesome magnificence  of everything  in God’s creation  is silently  and most definitely shouting out  that only the LORD God Almighty is its Creator.

If  there is any sort of doubt  about the LORD God Almighty creating all things,  one needs  to just start reading the Bible  —  God’s word  to us  —  to see all the many prophecies made  over thousands  of years of time  that all came true  in the one man,  Christ Jesus.     All those fulfilled prophecies  would be absolutely impossible  without the authority  and working  of God.     So,  that is a most sure proof  that Jesus is our Savior  and that He truly is with us every day,  where ever we might be.

This quiet,  daily witness  is also a reminder  that God is our Judge.     We need  to listen to what God’s word has to say  to us  and live in a faith  that quietly tells others  how we need  to humbly live  according to God’s word.

Then  in the awesomeness  of God’s faithful care for us,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  blessed be Your still,  small voice  in our hearts  and all of creation.

Love,
Margaret
