Every Word

Every Word

Proverbs 30:5

Every word  of God  is tested;
He is a shield  to those  who take refuge  in Him.

How would you like people  to constantly be checking out  absolutely every little thing  you say?      How would you feel  if they questioned  the truthfulness  of your every word?     Could you  always be proven  as someone who is truthful and faithful  to your every promise  and statement?

The word of God is recorded  in the Bible  and it has been tested  for truthfulness.     All of God’s promises  of a Savior came true  in the smallest details — from where He would be born   to how He would die and rise again  to fully pay for all  of our sins.     Since those promises were made  hundreds and thousands of years  before their fulfillment  in Christ Jesus,  it should be obvious  that the LORD surely has the power and authority  to keep all  of His word.

Nevertheless,  sinful people still refuse  to believe or trust  in the LORD.     They seem  to be of the opinion  that if God is “real”  and they claim to  “believe”  He exists,  He is obligated to make them rich,  successful,  and happier than their neighbors.     But,  that is not  what God promised us.

Throughout the Bible  we are promised testings and trials  regarding our faith.     God has been tested  and found to truly  be God.     And we need to be tested  for the refining  of our faith.     But,  in all of our weaknesses,  our Savior knows  we need help  and strengthening  in order  to come out  with flying colors.

And so God has a promise  for every one of us  as we struggle  to remain in the true faith.     In the surety of God’s eternal word,  we are promised,

He is a shield  to those  who take refuge  in Him.

“Every word”  of God is tested and tried  to be true.    Let us always turn  to our Lord  for the protection we need   from the world’s unbelief,  temptations,  conniving,  degradations,  and evils  of all sorts.     We are promised a refuge and God has proven  that He keeps His word.     God knows we need His protection  and He wants us  to turn to Him — no matter what is  in our past — God desires  that we turn to Him  for the help  that we need.     He can be trusted.

As we rejoice  in the truths  of God’s love and faithfulness  towards us,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord,  thank You  for graciously loving us,  even as we stumble around  in our weaknesses.”
