His Name Will Be Called

His Name Will Be Called

When God makes a promise,  He keeps it.     In this time  of celebrating  our gift  of a Savior  that was promised  so many years beforehand,  it is good  to think  on some  of those promises  and how they were  fulfilled  in Jesus Christ.     Here is just one  of God’s  marvelous promises  as found  in Isaiah 9:6-7.

For a child will be born to us,  a son will be given  to us;
And the government will rest  on His shoulders;
And His name will be called  Wonderful Counselor,  Mighty God,
Eternal Father,  Prince of Peace.
There will be no end  to the increase  of His government  or of peace,
On the throne of David  and over his kingdom,
To establish it  and to uphold it  with justice and righteousness
From then on  and forevermore.
The zeal  of the LORD of hosts  will accomplish this.

Now that we have this child  born to us,  let us go  to our  “Wonderful Counselor,  Mighty God,  Eternal Father,  Prince of Peace”.     He alone  is able  to lead us  through this world  with the peace  that passes all understanding.     Jesus is the only salvation  anyone can really  ever have.     There simply is  no other salvation.

As we rest  in the might  of our LORD and God,  we say,  “Hallelujah!    Lord,  thank You so much  for counseling us in our troubles,  acting mightily  on our behalf,  loving us as our beloved Father,  and being our eternal peace.     Oh how we need You every day  of our lives.”

Love,
Margaret
