The Sheep of His Hand

The Sheep of His Hand
The LORD God Almighty created us and loves us very dearly. We have to admit that we belong to God because He made us. And, more than that, when we became lost in our sins, God became our Savior and Redeemer in Jesus Christ. That’s something to think about.
For these reasons, we need to keep these facts in mind and live according to these truths. These are not things we should nonchalantly slough off. We most surely will face all sorts of situations that might cause us to forget who we are or make us fear for our safety. Those are the times when we need to be aware of who we are and who God Almighty is.
Psalm 95:6 dwells on these thoughts and then invites us,
Come, let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.
For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture,
and the sheep of His hand.
All of the historical and archeological evidences connected to the Bible are proof that God made prophecies and kept His word. That is vital to remember. When we see how the Lord kept detailed promises about the Savior from sin, we can deduce that God’s word regarding creation and Judgment Day are also factual.
That is what gives us good reason to listen to the psalmist’s invitation to worship and bow down to the “LORD our Maker”. It only makes sense to realize that “He is our God” because these sorts of things cannot all be accidental.
It is only logical to then realize that all of the Bible’s promises about God’s love are also true. God made promises of forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ. God also made promises of eternal judgments for all who refuse to look at the facts He has been setting before us, to prove the truths of His love and salvation.
Let us rejoice in Who takes care of us.
When we are called “the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand“, that is showing us our dependence upon the God who created us. We need God. We have to realize how vulnerable we are to all sorts of dangers. Only God can give us the victories we need on this earth — and He is longing to do just that.
Close by our Maker’s side, we say, “Hallelujah! LORD, You are my Maker and Defender. You sustain me and tenderly care for me. Thank You for Your faithful love.”
Love,
Margaret
