He Has Made His Wonders to Be Remembered

Every day we have so many wonders  of God  around us.     No one can even begin  to list them all.     We can broadly refer  to all the awesome things in space  and the innumerable things  of creation here on earth.     The way a tree and flower are able  to take in nutrients  from the soil — the way some things thrive  in a desert,  the tundra,  jungles,  and rough seas — the way days and seasons remain  over time — the way new life is born — the metamorphosis  of a butterfly — there just is no end  to all the wonders around us.

And then,  to top all that off,  there is the wonder of prophecies  coming true.     There is a written record  of God’s many different promises  of a Savior  from sin — and then,  thousands of years later,  it all comes true  in Jesus Christ.     How is that possible?     I can’t even say what the rest  of my day  will be like.     But,  there is this old,  historical record — written by many different people  over many years — and that all comes true  in the one man, Jesus.

That is a wonder.

This wonder has taken place.     History and archeology set it before us.     What are we to do about it?     We should not deny it.     It sits right here before us.     God shows us  what He is able  to create  in all of creation — and He shows us  His everlasting power  to keep His word.     This is why Psalm 111:4 states,

He has made His wonders to be remembered.

The God who created all things is showing us  that all this really was done  by Him alone.     He is the one we need  to pay attention to.     He has proven  His eternal power.     He did all this so that we could think about it  and come to the realization  that He is in control  of all things  for all time.    No one else  can do anything like that.

God made sure  that we all have a way  to remember  that He alone is the Almighty,  and there is no other Savior,  no other God,  no other LORD.     It’s marvelous how God did all this  just for us.     He knew  that thousands of years later  people would be looking  for a reason to believe  His word.     This is it.

This shows how well God knows us  and how much He cares  about our every thought and concern.     Knowing we are that loved — even though we are nothing more  than a speck  in all of creation — leads us to say,  “Hallelujah!     My Savior,  You truly are  from everlasting to everlasting  the one and only Lord and God.     Blessed be Your love  for me.”

Love,
Margaret
