Through the Living and Abiding Word of God
Every culture around the world appoints leaders for their people. The leader might carry the role of a chief, president, king, queen, emperor, or whatever their society determined. No matter what the leader’s title, there is a similarity in the expectancy of every leader and his family. They must act like leaders. They’re not supposed to be slovenly, weak, spineless, indecisive, careless, or anything else along those lines. And, they’re supposed to have the bearing of a real leader. They need to show trustworthy characters, high ideals, strength, and everything else that will serve the people righteously.
By faith we are children of God Almighty — the King of kings, LORD of lords, and God of gods. We belong to the royal family of God. We were born into the family of God when we accepted Jesus as our Savior. So, we no longer belong to this world. 1 Peter 1:23 tells us,
For you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and abiding word of God.
Because we now belong to the family of God, we ought to act as a child of the King should act. A child of the King has the dignity of belonging to the King’s family. Every child of the King is joyfully traveling through this earth until our heavenly home is reached. Since our heavenly Father is holy and righteous, we honor Him by trying to imitate His ways — just because we love our Abba, Father.
As heirs of the glories of heaven, we strive to learn what our heavenly Father is teaching us in His word. We are careful to stay away from the entrapments of worldly philosophies, greeds, lusts, hatreds, idolatries, and the like. We always keep the love of our Savior in sight, so that our purpose and goal are not lost in the confusions of this world. The child of the King stands strong, as the heavenly Father strengthens him.
And so, we go on rejoicing as we travel. And, we say, “Hallelujah! Lord, You have covered us with the robe of Jesus’ righteousness. You have made us pure and holy through faith in Jesus. Let our faith and hope always be in what You have done for us, to make us Your dear children.”
Love,
Margaret
