I Will Lift Up My Eyes

August 28, 2019

I Will Lift Up My Eyes

Sometimes it can be easy to feel overcome  with all the “stuff” going on  in our lives  and in the whole wide world.     It’s no different for us  than it has been for all people  down through the ages.     That is why the writer of Psalm 121 sang  about his confidence  during tough times.     He said:

I will lift up my eyes  to the mountains;

From whence shall my help come?

My help comes from the LORD,

Who made heaven and earth.

He will not allow your foot  to slip;

He who keeps you  will not slumber.

Behold, He who keeps Israel

Will neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD is your keeper;

The LORD is your shade  on your right hand.

The sun will not smite you by day,

Nor the moon by night.

The LORD will protect you  from all evil;

He will keep your soul.

The LORD will guard your going out  and your coming in

From this time forth  and forever.

God doesn’t change.     He is “the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.”     ( Hebrews 13:8 )     That is why we need to really think about Psalm 121  and consider all of our concerns.     We need to always remember  that all things are in God’s hands  and He wants us  to put our whole trust in Him  in every situation.

Resting in our Savior’s love, we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD, thank You for Your eternal love and care.”
