Since We Receive

God Almighty blesses us  with a lot  of things  throughout our lives.     Everybody should seriously think about these things.     Besides the regulars of food,  clothing,  housing, etc.,  there are the times we’ve been saved from an accident  —  went through a very troublesome, devastating time,  only to see later on  that it was actually a great blessing  of God’s leading  —  or been at a total loss  as what to do  and later realize  that God was leading us, even at that time.

It’s later on that we receive  and/or realize the blessing  of what was a very troublesome time.

All these challenging life experiences are actually our LORD  teaching us  to always trust in Him alone.     We might be and feel  harassed,  friendless,  poor,  and in great need.     Through all that, our heavenly Father is disciplining us  in the true faith.     God is dealing with us  as a loving Father  guiding his children  in right living.

Because God’s children all need  to go through these tough times  to actually learn faith,  hope,  and love,  God has given us His word in the Bible  to help us.     It is packed with the history  of many others  who have experienced tough times  throughout their lives  and learned  to keep their trust and faith  in God’s love.     Their blessing of eternal life  is to be an encouragement  for us  to remain in the true faith,  with lives lived  to glorify God.

We need to respect God’s ways  of leading us  through this world  of many trials.     That is why Hebrews 12:28-29  teaches us:

Therefore, since we receive a kingdom  which cannot be shaken,  let us show gratitude,  by which we may offer to God  an acceptable service  with reverence  and awe;  for our God is a consuming fire.

In every hard time,  let us remember  to go to God’s word,  which is a witness  of many people down through the ages, and let us learn God’s ways through their experiences.

As we continue to be strengthened  in God’s word,  our joy  in God’s faithful love  will lead us to say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You for carrying us  through  life’s hard times  and blessing us  with eternal salvation.”

Love,
Margaret
