We Have an Everlasting Rock
As we read God’s word and get to know God and His ways with people down through the ages, we realize God does not change. He is from everlasting to everlasting. He is the almighty Creator of all things. He always keeps His promises. His love and mercy are so awesome as He deals with our sinful lives. He is ever so patient with us as we stumble around in this life.
One could go on and on about His marvelous attributes and trustworthiness. That is why many Bible passages refer to the LORD as our “Rock”. He is solid and dependable. He keeps us safe in this world of sin. He rescues us from dangerous situations and life styles. Everyone who has come to trust in God has personal experiences they are very grateful for.
These are all things to think about whenever life gets tough. Then we need to dwell on how our LORD and Savior will continue to be a solid “Rock” in our lives. We might leave Him at times, but He will never leave us. He always wants us to come back to Him, so we need to take comfort in God’s word where we are reminded of our “Rock”. A few verses include:
Isaiah 26:4
Trust in the LORD forever,
For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock.
Psalm 18:2
The LORD is my Rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
My God, my Rock, in whom I take refuge;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Psalm 62:2
He only is my Rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.
Psalm 92:15
To declare that the LORD is upright;
He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
Always going back to these truths, we say, “Hallelujah! LORD, thank You for being the stable part of our lives.”
Love,
Margaret
