The LORD Is My Strength

The LORD Is My Strength
King David faced many challenges with wicked people — just like we do today. So David prayed with all his might that he would never, ever become like the wicked people. He was appalled at how they would pretend to be peaceful, while their whole intent was to do evil underhandedly.
David pointed out the reason for their deceitfulness. In Psalm 28:5, David said they acted that way,
Because they do not regard the works of the LORD
Nor the deeds of His hands.
So today, those who have no respect or “regard” for all that God has done in creation and in keeping His promises of salvation still keep on being deceitful and evil in their ways.
In having many such people around him, King David did not cave in to their evil ways or let himself lose faith because of their onslaughts. In Psalm 28:7, David joyfully confessed,
The LORD is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart exults,
And with my song I shall thank Him.
We, too, need to know that the LORD is our “strength” and our “shield”. God is merciful and faithful, so we can surely trust Him and allow Him to help us in the way that is best in the end. We can and should let our hearts exult in God’s love for us. Everyone really needs to “thank” the LORD with songs and praises.
Placing our trust and salvation in the LORD’s hands, we say, “Hallelujah! Lord, thank You for staying by our side throughout our whole lives, to protect and lead us.”
Love,
Margaret
