Casting All Your Anxiety Upon Him
Our LORD knows our every thought, feeling, care, anxiety……. And we know how anxious we can get when things don’t seem to be going very well. We become anxious because we have absolutely no real control over many situations and don’t know what the future holds. Oh, we might try and do everything within our power, but our efforts are as nothing.
One really big hang up for many is that one doesn’t go to God in prayer. The thought might be that one shouldn’t bother God with little things, since He has more important things to tend to. But, let’s face it. That’s probably pride wanting to give ourselves the credit for doing something all by ourselves.
Everybody needs to get over the desire to be entirely self-sufficient. After all, we can’t even breathe without God enabling our every breath.
Throughout God’s word to us are examples of those who humbly put their trust in the LORD God Almighty and put their faith in our Savior and Redeemer, Christ Jesus. The apostle Peter well knew what it meant to humbly trust in God’s ways through thick and thin. So, he wrote for all of us in 1 Peter 5:6-7,
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you.
We can all look back on our lives and recognize many times when God has guided and protected us in all sorts of situations. As God has cared for us in the past, we should know that He will care for us in the future.
With everything concerning us in God’s hands, we say, “Hallelujah! LORD, Your loving care is so wondrous and awesome. Thank You for leading us step-by-step by Your almighty power.”
Love,
Margaret
