Outside Are…

Outside Are…

People who want to live with God eternally  in heaven  have a lot of things to think about, especially because of what Jesus teaches us  in all of Matthew 24.     One needs to think about all  of Matthew 24.     There we read of people being offended  by God’s teachings  and then hating and killing Christians.     We see that happening around the world today.     Christians will be killed  for holding to the teachings of the LORD  as they are written throughout the Bible.

God’s teachings are not popular  with a world that loves its own sinful practices.     Since we are living in such times,  we need to keep in mind Revelation 22:14-15.     There are many similar passages throughout God’s word,  but here we’ll consider these.      Revelation 22:14-15   says,

Blessed are those who do His commandments,  that they may have the right  to the tree of life,  and may enter through the gates into the city.      But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

Those who love and trust our Savior lovingly live  according to God’s will.     Therefore, they will be able to freely “enter through the gates  into the city”.     That means they can enter heaven.

But,  then are listed those  who will never be allowed to enter heaven.     Because of the way the world is these days,  we need to seriously consider the descriptions  of those who will never be allowed in heaven.     These descriptions are what is meant by the Greek words  they were first written in.

Dogs  —  The Greek term “dogs” refers to one  with an impure mind  — a shameless person  or sodomite.

Sorcerer  —  One who uses magical arts  — one who is devoted to magical arts, especially one who uses drugs,  potions,  spells,  and enchantments.

Sexually immoral  —  A whoremonger,  a man who prostitutes his body to another’s lust for hire,  one who indulges in unlawful sexual intercourse.

Murderer  —  One who commits intentional homicide.

Idolater  —  One who worships false gods  —  a Christian who participates  in any way  in the worship of the heathens  —  a covetous man  as a worshipper of Mammon  or things of the world.

Whoever loves and practices a lie  —  This includes any conscious and intentional falsehood,  any perverse and  deceitful practices.

There are those  who strongly claim to be Christians,  but yet belligerently take part  in these sorts of things.     That is a gross rejection of God’s love.     They will not be able to enter heaven.     Why?     Because their actions despisingly defy God’s loving commands and holy guidance  in His word.     If they had an honest love and faith,  they would lovingly change their ways  and gladly obey God’s ways.

As we examine ourselves  to make sure we are living according to God’s love,  we respectfully say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You for constantly seeking to guide us  in all that is good and right.     Create in us clean hearts and right spirits.”
