His Greatness Is Unsearchable

His Greatness Is Unsearchable

Scientists and the average “Joe”  keep probing,  looking for answers  to all sorts of questions.      We wonder about things like  the size of all of creation.      Where does space end?      What’s on the other side of it?      Is there an  “other side”?     How can we  “conquer”  this ailment  and that ailment?      What caused the ailment  in the first place?      What really gives life to a seed?      Proper moisture and warmth are required,  but what really makes a seed sprout?

None of these questions  have ever been fully answered  in the depth and wisdom  of God’s power.      People make  all sorts of plausible guesses,  but they still cannot explain  the actual power  behind it all.      God’s power  is way beyond human explanation.      Humans totally lack  the kind of power and wisdom  that exists within God Almighty.

We might proudly boast  about our measly accomplishments,  but they are nothing  in comparison  to what God has done  and is doing.      Recognizing this,  King David wrote  in Psalm 145:1-3,

I will praise You highly,  my God  and King,
and bless  Your name forever.
I will bless You  every day  and praise Your name  forever.
The Lord is great;  He deserves  high praise.
His greatness  is unsearchable.

It is good to examine  the wonders of God.      In all that we see,  we need to be like David,  who blessed  and praised God’s name  every day.      All things,  great and small,  give good reason  to praise the Lord.      As much as we see wonders  in creation,  the greatest  greatness  of God that is  unsearchable,  is the salvation we receive  by faith  in Jesus Christ.      That has taken a miracle of love  that no one can honestly explain.

In that miracle of love,  God worked  down through the ages,  detail by detail,  making promises  of a Savior from sin,  and fulfilling those promises.      We have the Bible  to give us the bare-bones outline  of major events  that took place  in history,  and that ultimately led  to Jesus’ birth,  suffering,  death,  and resurrection.      Behind the scenes of that,  God powerfully worked  all of history  to make His promises  come true.

For all this  —  and more than we can possibly know  —  we join David  in saying, “The Lord is great;  He deserves high praise.      His greatness  is unsearchable.”

Thankful for such a gracious and loving Savior,  we say,  “Hallelujah!      Lord,  we praise You,  our Creator,  God,  Savior,  and King.”
