Then You Also Will Be Revealed
The world has so many mixed up ideas about Christians and their Lord Jesus Christ. They conjure up derogatory images of judgmentalism, goodie-two-shoes, self-righteous joy killers, religious kooks, delusional pie-in-the-sky dreamers, etc., etc. Their accusations are far from reality.
When Paul described the details of a true Christian life, he made a long list of the changes made in a person’s life when they put their faith in Christ Jesus. They change from hatefulness to lovingkindness — from immorality to morality — from slander to truthfulness — from greediness to sharing — from anger to patience — from feistiness to peacefulness, thankfulness, and joyfulness.
These are huge changes in which a person learns to love because they have come to fully realize how beloved they are in God’s eyes. Instead of being proud, arrogant, and boastful, they humbly rest in God’s love. They fully realize they will remain sinners all while living on this earth. So, they strive to live in a way that emulates the love God has shown them.
Some day, they know they will no longer have to deal with all the wranglings of sin. Things will be totally different in heaven. As Christians look forward to that day, their hopes strengthen them to live in God’s truths, in spite of the world’s mockings and snide remarks. Then, it will be as Paul wrote in Colossians 3:4,
When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
Some day Christ will come in all His power and glory as LORD and God over all. Then absolutely everyone who has ever lived will see Him, and be forced to realize His eternal authority over all things. And absolutely every single child of God will also be revealed — not as the sinners they once were — but as the glorified, forgiven, purified, and holy children of God.
And so, we are not ashamed to claim Christ as our Lord and Savior. We are ever so glad He has made huge changes in our lives.
In gladness, we say, “Hallelujah! Lord Jesus, You do all things well to perfection. Thank You for humbly coming down to this earth in the Christ Child, so that we might be saved from the dregs of our sins.”
Love,
Margaret
