Away in a Manger

Away in a Manger
Pure and simple — God loves us. We are all wretched sinners for sure. Nevertheless, God’s love found a way, through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, to justify us through faith — making us pure and holy, fit for heaven.
Jesus’ entry into this world had its pains — the trip to Bethlehem for the census, no room at the inn, birth in a stable, King Herod’s hateful killing spree, fleeing to Egypt. But, in the midst of the trials, there was the glorious announcement to the shepherds, the awesome visit of shepherds, and the visit of the magi, who somehow had knowledge that a King to be worshiped was born.
In the middle of all that was the peace of faith that all things were in God’s almighty hands. And so, with hearts resting in God’s peace, we can sing “Away in a Manger” at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuF-D7eaars and think about how all things are possible with our Lord. Nothing is impossible.
Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The Little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head.
The stars in the bright sky looked down where He lay,
The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes.
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky,
And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,
And fit us for heaven to live with Thee there.
Knowing God’s power to surely lead us in His salvation, we say, “Hallelujah! Lord Jesus, thank You for living through so many troubles on this earth, and yet remaining pure and holy, so that You would be the perfect Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world.”
Love,
Margaret
