Blessing and Honor and Glory and Dominion

As we face our daily problems,  it’s easy to complain.      We just want things  to go along  more smoothly  and would rather not deal  with all the glitches  and trials.      The Children of Israel  would have agreed with us  because they complained a lot,  according to many accounts  throughout the Old Testament.

But,  that’s not how  all those in heaven  see things.      Because  they are so fully aware  of all that God has done  for us  in Christ Jesus — and how awesome  God’s love in Christ is — in Revelation 5:13, they say,

To Him  who sits on the throne,  and to the Lamb,  be blessing  and honor  and glory  and dominion  forever and ever.

Because  God is our eternal King  and LORD  over all — and because  God’s sacrificial love  for us  is so amazingly great — all those  in heaven  gladly worship Him  and confess  that all blessing,  honor,  glory,  and dominion,  most surely  belong to God  forever and ever.      It’s wonderful  to have God Almighty  over all things.

That might not be  exactly  how we feel  as we face  our daily troubles.      But,  it is  how we should feel.      Every day  of our lives  we should think  about the greatness  of our Lord and Savior,  and give humble thanks  that He loves  even us.      All those in heaven  realize  how God deserves  all our praise  and honor.      Do we want to join them  some day?      We need to start practicing  now  and confessing the truths  about God’s love  in Christ.

Psalm 150:6  tells us,

Let everything  that has breath  praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD!

Each day  we need to settle down  and see God’s love  in everything  around us.      Even in our troubles,  our Savior  is graciously near  to strengthen  and keep us,  because of His great love  for us.      So,  we say,  “Hallelujah!      Lord,  we can do nothing  by ourselves,  but You can work  all things  for our good  in the end.”

Love,
Margaret
