Do Not Let  Any Iniquity  Have Dominion  Over Me

There are around 7.4 billion people  in this world  —  all sinners.     Back in 2010,  there was an estimated 2.2 billion Christians  in various denominations.     Although Christianity is presently considered the largest religious group,  many are only nominal Christians,  who don’t know much  of anything  about God’s word  in the Bible  —  and who are Christians  in name only,  not in practice.

With most  of the world  serving all sorts  of other deities  and philosophies,   all these other religions  are having awful influences  on weak Christians.     Many  who call themselves Christian  are copying various heathen practices,  imagining  that those practices  will draw them closer  to God.     But,  they are being dreadfully fooled.

The only way  to draw closer  to God Almighty  is through His word  in the Bible.     That is where  God teaches us  His truths  and strengthens us  in all  that is true.     Down through the ages,  God’s children  have always had  to be very wary  of false teachings  and heathen practices.     That is why Psalm 119:133 prays,

Establish  my footsteps  in Your word,
And do not let  any iniquity  have dominion  over me.

When we are not “established”  in God’s “word”,  all sorts  of “iniquity”  is bound  to  “have dominion over” us  —  and  we will  most likely  lose our eternal salvation  —  just because  we have  dumbed ourselves down  from God’s truths.     Following heathen practices  is a sin  in God’s sight.      Therefore,  it is good  to remember Romans 10:17,

Faith comes  from hearing,  and hearing  by the word  of Christ.

Anyone  who honestly wants  to learn  about the true God  and draw close  to God  must pay close attention  to “the word  of Christ”  —  which is all  of the Bible.

Assured  by God’s eternal truths,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  Your every word  is righteous  and true.     Thank You  for the gifts  of Your word  and eternal salvation.”

Love,
Margaret
